The emerald ash borer, true to its name, is a green, sparkly beetle. But it’s hardly a jewel. The invasive pest has forced a species of tree in the Triad onto the endangered species list.
The victim is the ash tree, and in the Triad, the species most affected are white ash and green ash, said Scott Wyatt with Davey Tree Expert Co.
