The City of East Lansing enlisted Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) to craft a comprehensive Tree Manual and Standards of Practice, guiding municipal tree management policies to ensure alignment with best practices, benefiting both the city and wider community.
Transportation
DRG provided services from concept development to construction support, including environmental screening, permitting, and habitat assessment services during a bridge replacement in Monmouth County, NJ. DRG is monitoring state-endangered piping plovers and conducting post-construction mitigation.
Energy
The Somerville Landfill is being redeveloped as a solar array field. DRG conducted wetland and state open water delineation, provided regulatory permitting services, and ensured no solar panels are placed in wetlands. DRG also prepared and submitted multiple NJDEP permit applications.
Parks & Trails
In 2023, DRG undertook a project in Indiana Dunes State Park to eradicate invasive vegetation across eight acres, aiming to establish a native oak savanna landscape. Mechanical and herbicide methods were employed, including forestry mowing and manual cutting, with follow-up treatments planned.
Municipality
DRG will help implement Plainfield’s tree management plan, tree assessments, inspecting planting sites, scheduling tree removal and pruning, and ensuring quality control. DRG will collaborate with Town staff, provide Arbor Day celebration planning, and work towards Tree City USA designation.
