Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada Promotes Arico, Turnbull to Regional Vice President

(Kent, Ohio)– The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited, is proud to announce the promotions of John Arico and Mark Turnbull to regional vice president for Davey’s Canadian operations. Arico and Turnbull both have more than 20 years of service to the Davey Company.

Some description

Arico, a 22-year employee of Davey, served as assistant district manager of the Toronto West office and district manager of the Toronto East Office. In 2011 he was promoted to area operations manager for Ontario residential service and operations.

Arico is an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist who attended the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences in 1995 and is a graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming College’s Forestry Technician Program. To promote the importance of safety, Arico also sat as a member of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Joint Health and Safety Committee for two years. He also sits on the board of the Ontario Commercial Arborists Association.

Turnbull started with Davey in 1978 as a groundsperson in British Columbia. Early in his career, Turnbull worked as a trimmer and foreman. He relocated to Alberta in 1985 and was promoted to a supervisor of utility operations in 1986, and then in 1990 he was promoted to area manager of Southern Alberta. In 2012, Turnbull was promoted to regional manager of utility operations for British Columbia.

Some description

Turnbull started an apprenticeship with Western Utility Arborists Association and became certified in 1981 as a Utility Arborist with the Industrial Vegetation Management Association of Alberta at Olds College in Alberta. He successfully completed the Faller Certification course through BC Forest Safety Council, is a member of the Utility Vegetation Management Association and the BC Forest Safety Council Faller  Safety Board.
