Algal Leaf Spot
Raised, wavy, cushion-like spots are symptoms of algal leaf spot, also known as green scurf. The spots are greenish, pinkish or grayish and less than 1 cm. in diameter. They may encircle a twig, creating a girdling canker.

Brittle cinder fungus, or Kretzschmaria deusta, is a fungal pathogen that causes breakage in seemingly healthy trees. The fungus appears around the base of trees as a crust-like fruiting body that has wavy edges.
Biscogniauxia Canker Of Oaks
Pronounced bisk-o-nee-ox-e-a, this fungus can be identified by the dark-colored, crusty fungus tissue on dead,
cankered areas. Light-colored spore masses are frequently seen on branches and stems of severely affected trees. Large pieces of bark may slough off, exposing the fungus underneath.
Sudden Oak Death
Sudden Oak Death (SOD) is caused by a water mold called Phytophthora ramorum. The disease is common throughout California and Oregon.
