Citygate Church
DRG conducted a tree inventory, created valuation reports, and assisted in permitting for a vegetation removal project along I-275 in Cincinnati for Citygate Church.
Clearing The Way For Citygate
Citygate Church contacted Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) to remove vegetation along the right-of-way (ROW) controlled by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) alongside I-275.
The DRG team obtained a permit to access the ODOT ROW to complete a tree inventory of the section of ROW along the Citygate Church property line. Once granted, a tree inventory, including the species, diameter at breast height (DBH), geographical location, tree assessment values (health, structure, and form), and site conditions (functional and external limitations), was conducted. The data points were then used to create an Appraisal Worksheet to determine the replacement cost (to be reimbursed to the State of Ohio) for the proposed vegetation removal. The data was also used to create maps to include in the arborist’s report submitted by DRG for regulatory compliance.
Reaching Across Service Lines
The arborist’s report includes the location and description of the site, the vegetation characteristic contained within the site, a valuation of the vegetation, including justification for assigning a $0 value to any vegetation contained within the site, the cumulative tree value to be compensated to the State of Ohio once the permit to remove is approved, as well as the site work plan and procedures to be followed once the permit was approved. Photos of the proposed site were also included to reinforce the need to remove the vegetation.
As the permit holder, the property owner had the flexibility to choose their own contractor. They selected Davey’s local Commercial tree services team. This team completed the vegetation removal and secured separate beautification permits from ODOT.
