In this WTHR 13 interview, Mike Volz, district manager of Davey's Indianapolis office, discusses best practices for planting a tree during the winter months.

Trees do more than just look pretty in the fall or covered in snow. They provide food, shelter and of course – the air we breath.

In today's "Going Green," were going to talk about how you can help the environment by planting a tree right now!

You have likely been mulching, raking, and composting your leaves. But have you ever considered planting a tree this time of year?

According to Mike Volz I.S.A. Arborist District Manager, Davey Tree Expert, "typically, a lot of people think to plant in the spring, which is a great time to plant, but fall is also a really good time to plant a tree."
