In this WTAJ article, Sandee Reid, executive vice president of corporate communications and strategic planning, discusses the benefits of Davey's Score for the Trees partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are often seen skating, shooting and scoring. However, what they do on the ice each night also plays a role in the help they provide to the environment.
As part of their Score for the Trees initiative, for every goal they score during a home game, they plant a tree in the greater Pittsburgh area. Similarly, for Earth Day, the team headed out to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail to do some work for the planet.
The goal of the initiative is to help restore the urban forest in Pittsburgh. To do so, they partnered with The Davey Tree Expert Company to make sure that their work was done right.
