Some maple, birch and fruit trees have already started changing the color of their leaves, and wilted leaves are dropping to the ground.
And if your maple, oak, birch or fruit tree is showing signs of stress, it might be too late to stop it.

“Once the color starts, you’re unlikely to see it recover this season,” Davey Tree Expert Company operations manager Dan Sharp told Metroland Media. “You can help the tree along, but this season is basically a write off. The tree is going to go to sleep and try again next year.”
