NAPLES, FL -
A brown pelican is on the mend at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida after getting stuck for hours in a tree Thursday morning.
The rescue happened near Seagate Drive in Naples.
The pelican was stuck 80 feet up in a tree upside down for four hours.
Now, it is alive and recovering thanks to some unlikely heroes.
"It's a helpless feeling because he was lying upside down," said rescuer Dan Powell, "It's what we do everyday. It definitely was a twist because you've got an animal up there."
