Kent, Ohio - The Davey Tree Expert Company announces five expansions of its Residential/Commercial (R/C) operations - North St. Louis, Mo., Southwest Metro Minneapolis, Minn., Portland South, Maine, Gurnee, Ill. and Yorkville, Ill.
Davey also announces the promotions of five new district managers. Kyle Carevic will lead the North St. Louis office, Ryan Gustafson will lead the Southwest Metro office, Dana DiRenzo will lead the Portland South office, Brent Lundstrom will lead the Gurnee office and Tony Brugger will lead the Yorkville office.
"There's been a rising demand for services across these markets. To meet these demands, we are excited to grow and help more people with their tree care and landscape needs," said Geoff Cowan, vice president and general manager of R/C services. "With nearly 100 years of combined experience, these leaders all represent Davey's core values and will strengthen both new and longstanding relationships with our clients and colleagues."
These office expansions strengthen Davey's presence and capacity to serve more clients and communities across the country. Each office will deliver community-focused results, including healthier local trees through expert inspections and treatment, greater safety through professional pruning and long-term environmental and economic benefits that help strengthen the community.
Kyle Carevic, North St. Louis
Carevic started with Davey in 2010 as a trimmer trainee. In 2013, he was promoted to sales arborist, then in 2019 to assistant district manager for the St. Louis R/C office.
Carevic is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist® and holds a Pesticide Applicator certification in Missouri and Illinois. He graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in forest research management.
Ryan Gustafson, Southwest Metro
Gustafson joined Davey in 2002 as an intern at the Minneapolis R/C office. In 2006, he was promoted to inventory arborist and project manager within Davey Resource Group. Most recently, Gustafson was promoted to sales arborist for the South Minneapolis R/C office in 2013, then to district manager of the South Minneapolis R/C office in 2024.
Gustafson is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist®. He also holds an ISA Municipal Specialist Certification and a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Gustafson graduated from University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in urban forestry.
Dana DiRenzo, Portland South
DiRenzo joined Davey in 2008 as a foreman. In 2022, he was promoted to sales arborist at the Portland, Maine R/C office. Prior to Davey, DiRenzo had 6 years of experience in the tree care and green industries.
DiRenzo is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist®, Maine licensed Utility and Landscape Arborist and Maine licensed Master Pesticide Applicator. He is also TRAQ certified and Prescription Pruning Qualification (PPQ) certified. He graduated from the University of Maine in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in forest operations science.
Brent Lundstrom, Gurnee
Lundstrom joined Davey in 2024 as the assistant district manager of the Lake Bluff R/C office. Prior to Davey, Lundstrom had eight years of experience in the tree and plant health care and sales industries.
Lundstrom is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist®. He is also TRAQ certified. Additionally, Lundstrom has earned a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University.
Tony Brugger, Yorkville
Brugger joined Davey in 2009 as a regional manager of the Illinois region after Davey acquired The Care of Trees, Inc. In 2015, he was promoted to sales arborist at the Naperville R/C office and later that same year to assistant district manager of the Naperville R/C office.
Brugger is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist®. He also graduated from the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.), Davey's flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques, in 2012.
