Medina County Park District
DRG provided design, permitting, project management, site surveying, and more to Medina County Park District for the farm-themed play area in Allardale Park.
Family-Focused Sustainability
Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) and its trusted design-build partner, Marks Construction, were contracted by Medina County Park District (MCPD) to design and build a farm-themed nature play area at Allardale Park, a former family farm donated by Stan and Esther Allard. The project fulfilled the family’s long-held wish for a hilltop playscape within the park while aligning with MCPD’s goal of creating “built, not bought” amenities.
Facilitated by a generous family donation and park funding, the project included ADA-compliant trails, three grain bin pavilions, native gardens, and interactive play features, such as a tractor tire swing, a turf embankment slide, and a tractor play element replicated after the Allard family’s original tractor.
A Comprehensive Solution
DRG provided design, permitting, project management, site survey, park planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction oversight. Marks Construction built all custom play features, while DRG’s restoration team installed native vegetation to enhance the agricultural theme of the play space.
This unique project was delivered on time and under budget to coincide with the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
