DRG recently attended the Stream + Wetlands Foundation (S+W) field day at the Pine Brook Wetlands Mitigation Bank, joining a select group of individuals from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Ohio EPA among others. Located in Geauga County, Pine Brook was the first mitigation bank in Ohio approved to sell wetland mitigation credits generated by preservation, of which it has approximately 100 credits available.
The DRG team has worked closely with S+W, Ohio EPA and other regulatory agencies to ensure that the Pine Brook project is meeting its performance goals, and greatly enjoyed the opportunity to check back in on the progress of the property. Pine Brook is home to several rare plant species, and is a favorite spot for local botanical experts such as the staff from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
