John Woodard

Project Developer, GIS/IT Support Services

John R. Woodard, M.S., GISP, EA joined Davey in 2017 as a GIS/IT project developer. Woodard brings extensive experience in the geospatial and cartographic fields to this role. In his previous position as a GIS coordinator, he served as the GIS liaison between municipal planners, consultants, engineers, and company GIS professionals. Additionally, Woodard previously worked as a GIS specialist, where he was instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of an enterprise GIS system that deployed a data system to share regional information across county departments. He has also published a paper detailing how to use a GIS system to predict and respond to a terrorist attack. 

Woodard holds a master’s degree in geography/geographic information systems from the University of Akron and a master’s degree in digital science with a concentration in enterprise architecture from Kent State University. He also holds two bachelor’s degrees in history and studio art. Woodard is a member of the American Association of Geographers (AAG), Ohio chapter of the Urban Regional System Association (URISA), GIS Users of Northern Ohio (GUONO), the Golden Key International Honor Society, and Chairman of the Exhibitor/Sponsorship Committee for the 2017 Northeast Ohio GIS Symposium.
