South San Francisco, CA
DRG developed an urban forest master plan with a clear set of goals for South San Francisco, CA. The master plan provided direction for the development, improvement, and enhancement of the city’s parks, neighborhood, and street trees.
Project Narrative:
As part of South San Francisco’s 2017/2018 Capital Improvement Program, the City Council authorized funding for the creation of a citywide urban forest master plan. After a competitive proposal process, DRG was selected to deliver the plan.
The purpose of the urban forest master plan is to develop a clear set of goals, policies, and objectives that will provide direction for the development, improvement, and enhancement of South San Francisco’s parks, neighborhood, and street trees, which collectively serve as the city’s “urban forest.” The vision for the urban forest master plan includes goals for sustainability, species diversity, and greater canopy cover. Completed in 2020, the plan will serve as a tool to guide tree care and reforestation measures on both an immediate and long-term basis.
