In their natural forest environment, plants have access to every element needed for optimum health. But plants in your yard face more stressors and competition, with less naturally occurring nutrients and defenses.
With a plant health care (PHC) program, your landscape is managed holistically with routine monitoring and preventative treatments. The PHC program is comprehensive and takes the entire property into account.
Here are 5 key areas of plant health care.
Davey's total plant health care approach combines preventative and therapeutic treatments to provide residential trees and shrubs with everything they need to thrive.
This threatening tree insect seems to be attracted to one of the oldest and largest growing Oak tree species, the native California Valley Oak.
The Mediterranean Oak Borer has also been spotted on Black Oaks and Sycamores and will attack both stressed and healthy trees.
It has rapidly spread into north and south Calistoga, Sonoma county, and Napa county.
Trees infested by MOB will show wilting and broken branches, as well as foliage discoloration. A good arborist should be able to identify a MOB infestation.

Symptoms to look for are dead sections of bark on your tree’s trunk or branches, known as cankers, or spots on the leaves.
Preventative treatment can be applied, but routine check-ups are key.
