SCOTT MACO

Scott Maco

Director, Research & Development

Scott Maco is the Director of Research and Development and focuses on developing tools that city foresters can use to convey the value and optimal management of trees in the urban landscape.

Maco leads development of the i-Tree Tools software suite and continues to expand Davey’s leadership roles in federal, state, university and local research projects. In addition to Maco’s time with Davey, he previously served as a research forester for the USDA Forest Service. Maco has a B.S. in Urban Forestry from the College of Forest Resources, University of Washington and a M.S. in Horticulture and Agronomy from the University of California, Davis.

The urban forest resource adds remarkable value to the cityscape, but caring for municipal trees is often hampered by limited resources. Scott Maco focuses on creating tools to increase and quantify that value.
