Happy pollinator week! To celebrate, we are sharing some of the amazing pollinator research that our scientists are doing at the SEED Campus. We hope you have a BEE-utiful pollinator week and encourage you to share these stories to help support pollinators!

Alex Kramer, research technician at the Davey Institute, manages the beehives at the SEED Campus. What began as an interest in insect communities during his undergraduate research has grown into a career that allows him to continue research on pollinator conservation. Alex leads projects studying everything from native pollinator habitat establishment to how bees respond to herbicides. This research helps us understand how to better support these essential insects and the ecosystems that depend on them.

Watch the video above to learn more from Alex about his work with bees!

About The SEED Campus

The Davey Tree SEED (Science, Employee Education, and Development) Campus, the almost 200-acre property that formerly housed the Oak Knolls golf course and Franklin Elementary School on State Route 43 in Kent, Ohio, will be the new home to specialized training and research facilities for The Davey Tree Expert Company. The science and learning campus is being designed to ensure that Davey continues to attract and retain the most qualified, well-trained, and engaged employees possible.
