Juanita High School
DRG completed an inventory and management plan to identify priority tree care concerns for the property of a newly constructed high school in Kirkland, WA.
Project Narrative:
DRG was contracted to complete an inventory of trees around Juanita High School (within the Lake Washington School District) to identify priority tree care concerns along the edges of the property and around the newly constructed school. Our goal was to identify trees in poor, declining health, or dead condition and to help prioritize mitigation efforts.
While many of the trees that we assessed had previously been tagged during construction, we tagged any that were missed. We then recorded the location and condition of all relevant trees as the basis for an urban forestry monitoring program. This program will allow the school district to effectively plan and budget for tree care over the next seven years.
