Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company has announced the promotion of Jim Zwack to general manager of the Davey Institute, the Davey Company’s premier research, development and innovation division.
Zwack, who has more than 20 years of experience in the green industry, started with Davey in 2010 as director of technical services after successfully helping to lead and grow a startup plant health care product sales company in Minneapolis. At Davey, Zwack has worked to improve technical services provided by the Institute to Davey’s field employees.
“Jim’s industry experience and technical expertise affords him a wealth of resources to help align our technical capacity with all of Davey’s service lines,” said Greg Ina, vice president and general manager of research, recruiting and human resource development. “Jim is committed to the Institute’s mission to deliver value-added service through a science-based approach to arboriculture in support of the Davey brand and our community of practice.”
Zwack will be relocating to Kent, Ohio, where the Institute is located on Davey’s corporate campus.
Zwack holds a master’s degree in tree physiology from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in urban forestry from the University of Minnesota. He has held numerous leadership positions in industry associations, is a former director for the Society of Commercial Arboriculture, and is a chair emeritus for the TREE Fund.
