Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company announced the appointment of Chelsi Abbott to technical advisor at the Davey Institute, the company’s premier research, development and innovation division.
In her Chicago-based role, Abbott will provide operational and research support to Davey’s field operations in the upper Midwest.
Abbott recently completed her master’s degree in plant pathology at Purdue University. Prior to that, she received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Central Michigan University. While working towards her degrees, Abbott acted as a research assistant at Central Michigan University from 2009 until 2012 and at Purdue University from 2013 until her 2016 graduation.
“Chelsi has a passion for tree science. Her background is a great fit for our team’s science-based approach to arboriculture. Plus, Chelsi understands how vital our research at the Davey Institute is to helping homeowners protect, preserve and care for their beloved trees,” said Jim Zwack, director of technical services at the Davey Institute.
“As our new technical advisor, I’m confident Chelsi will help us provide our arborists with the leading scientific practices needed to improve our clients’ trees, plants and landscapes,” noted Zwack.
