The Davey Tree Expert Company plans to plant 25 large oak trees at schools across the country to honor Oprah Winfrey's 25-year talk show run. In addition, another 25,000 smaller oak trees will be planted during the next year.
The program, called "Reading Takes Roots," is aimed to provide children with shady places to read and play at their schools. In addition to Davey Tree's gift, Target and The Heart of America Foundation will also provide renovations to each of the schools' libraries.
