The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Ltd., has announced an expansion into the Strathroy area with the addition of the customers and employees of Arbortech Professional Tree Care Inc., a Southwestern Ontario-based tree care company that has served area residents for over 20 years. With this acquisition, Davey now has two offices in the Greater London area.
Arbortech is a full-service tree company that was established in 1994. The business, founded by current owner Ian Johnston, grew into a staff of over a dozen certified arborists and horticulturists. Today, Arbortech crews ensure trees throughout many of Southwestern Ontario’s homes, schools, churches and parks are properly maintained.
“For over 20 years, our goal at Arbortech has been to provide premium quality services by employing highly trained experts and working with the best equipment available to us. By aligning our company with Davey, we’ll be able to better achieve our mission and deliver the best services to our clients,” said Johnston.
John Arico, regional vice president for Davey’s Canadian operations, agreed and warmly welcomed Arbortech employees and clients to the Davey family. Both companies share a strong commitment to safety, training and a superior client experience.
“Arbortech’s clients will greatly benefit from Davey’s professional knowledge, experience and equipment. Plus, Arbortech has gained access to the Davey Institute, the company’s premier research, development and innovation division, so they can offer state-of-the-art tree care diagnostics,” Arico said. “We’re also happy to say that approximately a dozen Arbortech employees are joining us.”
Mark Wright of Davey will serve as district manager of the Strathroy office. Wright was most recently the district manager of the Kitchener office, and he has worked for Davey for almost 25 years. He is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist® and a graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, Davey’s flagship training program.
Johnston will stay with the company to help through the transition, and said he’s confident current clients will be pleased with Arbortech’s association with Davey.
“Like Arbortech, Davey always puts their clients first,” Johnston said. “With Davey on our side, our customers can continue to expect the same high-quality services they’ve relied on for the past 22 years. With the help and depth of Davey’s international resources, we can offer better, scientifically-backed tree care services to our Southwestern Ontario neighbours.”
The Davey Tree Expert Company’s more than 8,600 employees provide tree care, grounds maintenance and environmental consulting services for the residential, utility, commercial and government markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. Davey has been employee-owned for 37 years. In Canada, Davey has provided Proven Solutions for a Growing World since 1930. For more information, visit www.daveytree.ca.
