Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Co. has announced the promotion of Jeff Wernet to district manager of the Canton, Ohio, residential/commercial office.
Wernet started with Davey in 1989 as a lawn care technician with the Akron, Ohio, residential/commercial office. In 1992 he earned a promotion to tree surgery foreman. Wernet was promoted to sales arborist in 2006 before relocating to the Canton office in 2007. He was promoted to assistant district manager in 2013.
“Jeff was instrumental in building the Canton office in 2007,” said Jeff Crites, Davey market manager of residential/commercial services. “Jeff’s resume with Davey in the last 27 years, his people skills and dedication to client satisfaction makes his promotion an exciting and confident one as we continue to grow.”
Wernet is a 1994 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. He is an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist.
In 1998 he attended Davey’s first Advanced Arborist Training program. He is a 1988 graduate of Hocking Technical College where he received an associate’s degree in recreation and wildlife.
