Davey promotes three in utility service line

Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Co. has announced the promotion of three key executives within Davey’s eastern utility operations, including Wolf Tree, a Davey subsidiary.

Harry Claypool has been promoted to senior vice president of operations for Davey’s southern operating group, including Wolf Tree. Claypool started with Davey in 1978 in the Akron, Ohio, office after graduating from Penn State University. He served as district manager for the Canton, Ohio, and Charlotte, North Carolina, offices before being promoted to regional manager of Davey’s utility service line in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2005, Claypool was promoted to vice president of southern operations.

Marvin Hassell has been promoted to regional vice president for Davey’s southern operating group. Hassell started with Davey in 1979 in Trenton, Florida, as a groundman. He was promoted to foreman in 1981, and in 1985 he was promoted to supervisor. Hassell was promoted in 2000 to area manager of Davey’s Gulf region. He was promoted to regional manager in 2004 and operations manager in 2014. Hassell is a 1986 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, Davey’s premier training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques.

Mike Mittiga has been promoted to operations manager for Davey’s southern operating group. Mittiga started with Davey in 2006 as a groundman and trimmer on the Tampa Electric account just after graduating from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.Some description In 2006 he was promoted to general foreman, and in 2008 was promoted to account manager. In 2013 he was promoted to area manager. Mittiga is a 2008 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences.
