Invasive Species Management

Davey Resource Group’s invasive species management can include a plan to construct, restore, monitor, and maintain a mitigation area. The first step in invasive vegetation management is understanding what invasive species are present, where the infestations are located, and how large of an area the infestations span. With this information, a management plan can be derived to efficiently and effectively control invasive vegetation.

After the study, Davey Resource Group implements an aggressive invasive species eradication program. The project often includes planting and seeding the entire mitigation area with native vegetation, also. As the native vegetation continues to establish, the invasive species population decreases until eventually it is eliminated from the wetland. Re-vegetating the wetlands with native plants not only provides the required diversity, but also prevents the re-infestation of invasive plants in the wetlands.

Finally, Davey Resource Group can also monitor the site for a two-year period to ensure that the native vegetation thrives. To ensure plant survival, DRG we can even manipulate water levels to correspond with local weather conditions, allowing for the most suitable growing environment possible.
