To ensure the growth, sustainability, and overall health of Tempe's urban forest and the benefits that trees provide, and in support of the goals of the City's General Plan 2030, the City of Tempe, Ariz., contracted with Davey Resource Group to develop a management plan for their urban forest program.
This significant population growth and commercial and residential development in Leesburg, VA motivated the Leesburg Tree Commission to request that Davey Resource Group help the Town recover and protect Leesburg's tree canopy by establishing an Urban Forestry Master Management Plan.
The Village of East Hampton, New York, has relied on Davey to help manage an important natural resource within their Village-their urban forest. To help the Village better keep track of trees located with public rights-of-way and public spaces, Davey developed an electronic "tree layer" for the Village's GIS.
Under the direction of Tree Pittsburgh, Davey Resource Group prepared the Pittsburgh Urban Forest Master Plan: A Road Map for the Effective Management of Our Urban Forest in 2012. The plan outlines goals and recommendations to achieve the city’s 20-year vision for its urban forest.
