Dave Madden, assistant district manager
Dave grew up in Weslaco, Texas, and received his degree in horticulture from Texas A&M University (“Class of 1980… whoop!”). An ISA Certified Arborist, Dave began working for Davey in 1999 and loves helping people. “I like meeting new people, diagnosing their issues, explaining the process, executing the work and getting paid to do it!” he says.
Aside from his involvement with the Society of Commercial Arborists, the Austin Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Pecan Growers Association and others, Dave spends his spare time in the garden, walking and hiking, traveling and occasionally hunting, fishing or golfing. He considers himself a “foodie” as well.
According to Dave, nature “has to be natural; not formal or manicured.” His house is one of his favorite landscape features for its natural look, which he says welcomes critters and birds.
Dave and his wonderful wife, Jill, have two children, Joshua David and Sarah Elizabeth. The family lives in Driftwood, Texas, with their 12-year-old Dachshund named Snoopy.
