David Lee has over 10 years of experience as an environmental inspector and field biologist on numerous transmission lines and linear construction projects. His specialties include surveying and monitoring for desert tortoise and burrowing owl. As a lead biological monitor, David’s skills sets include team management, communication, and teamwork with contractors and government agency representatives to ensure project compliance. Recent projects include compliance monitoring on the Sunrise Powerlink project in San Diego and biological monitoring for PG&E in the Bay Area. David studied ecotourism in Costa Rica as a graduate student at Montana State University, where he earned an M.S. degree. He earned his undergraduate degree, also in Biology, at U.C. Santa Cruz. David has worked as an environmental inspector and biological monitor on construction projects throughout the U.S. He has been published numerous times since 1985, most recently in 2007 in a Comprehensive Biological Surveys Report for the U.S. Air Force. David is founder of the Wildlife Training Institute (www.wildprotect.org), an ISA-approved continuing education program for certified arborists. David is an experienced Integrated Pest Management (IPM) biologist, and holds a Private Applicator Certificate issued by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
