Detroit Edison selected Davey Resource Group (DRG) to help with its joint inventory and attachment audit, which included more than 1 million poles for AT&T alone.
Detroit Edison (DE) required assistance from 2002 to 2004 with its joint-use inventory and audit of competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), which are telephone companies regulated by the same rules and regulations as the local operating company presently serving the community.
DRG’s ROWKeeper Work Planning software proved vital in streamlining the process of updating data from DE and making it easily accessible to all appropriate companies. Auditors carried field computers loaded with the software, along with base maps and pole databases. The updated information was then uploaded daily from the computers to the ROWKeeper website for viewing by selected client personnel. After completion of an area, the collected data was delivered to DE for updating of the appropriate GIS and billing systems.
DRG offered a unique service on this project. Instead of performing simultaneous mass auditing, each company received individual assessments and the opportunity to send a representative to work alongside DRG staff. This approach resulted in improved service and responsiveness to DE and all audited companies.
