The Texas “hill country,” outside of Austin, is home to one of the safest accounts in the entire Davey Company. This is no small feat given that the crews on the Pedernales Electric account work substantial production hours and work for the nation’s largest electric cooperatives.

While being known as a safe account, the Pedernales crews are not content to rest on their laurels. Like all of the crews throughout the Davey Company, they have transformed safety from a bullet point on a list of required work practices into a shared value. All Davey crews share a zero tolerance policy toward unsafe work practices, and foremen are diligent in reporting violations.

Studying the rare occurrence of a “near miss” accident and constantly reviewing safety materials allow the crews on the Pedernales Electric account stay at the top of their game. Safety comes first with these crews. Their motto: When you stay safe, you stay productive.
