Ameren-Frontier: Joint Use Inventory

AmerenIP and Frontier called upon Davey Resource Group (DRG) to conduct an inventory of poles the utilities jointly use throughout the state of Illinois.

Three DRG field technicians collected and verified information including pole type, pole number, number of attachments, and attachment companies. They also noted global positioning system (GPS) coordinates for the poles and checked for compliance with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC). Attachments failing to meet proper standards were noted for further evaluation.
Approximately 25,000 poles were audited for attachments. Work began in June 2006 and was completed in November 2006.
