At first glance, the Peterson Air Force Base, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, appears to be like any other office complex. Thousands hustle around hundreds of acres and in and out of buildings. Upon closer examination, this site reveals more; it's the key to the United States effort in space exploration.
Peterson, home of the U.S. Space Command, is a site of pristine order and calculated excellence, descriptors that can be used both to describe the efforts of Peterson's personnel, and the Davey crews responsible for grounds management at the site.
Davey's expert management of the site includes care of turf, meadows, trees, shrubs, rock and plant beds and Peterson's irrigation system. Davey's care has resulted in terrific praise, including a Grand Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Professional Grounds Management Society.
