When Kyle Celmer was 14, he knew he wanted to work on a golf course. Davey Tree helped make his dream come true.

“I get to have the biggest office with one big window,” Celmer says of his job outdoors. “I’ve always enjoyed manual labor. And here, you can strive for perfection and nit-pick everything.”

Celmer, whose first job as a teenager was as a caddy, is superintendent for Davey Golf Course Maintenance at the championship Eagle Crest Golf Club in Southeast Michigan. The only kind of job he has known has been on a course, so his current role fits him perfectly.

“Davey has a strong image in the industry,” he says. “The golf venture looked like a great opportunity to begin working with a fresh division, headed by like-minded individuals with the same passion for this industry. I felt then that we could be the best at what we do, and the past five years have not disappointed me.”

In addition to his love of keeping golf grounds immaculately manicured, Celmer says he truly enjoys being part of Davey's expert team. “You are just a phone call away from a solution,” he says. “No matter what my course needs, I have the resources to get it done ‘in house.’”
