It didn’t take long for Jerry Dykins to realize Davey was a solid company he could build a career with.

An area manager for the Atlantic division of Utility Services, Dykins started with Davey in 1992 as a climber. He had been working on a utility account for another tree care company when Davey was awarded the contract.

"I didn’t know much about Davey when I started, but I quickly realized that it was a lot more family oriented," Dykins says. "And it’s great that you own part of the company."

Dykins travels throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut, visiting crews, managers and new Davey employees. He says he most enjoys working outdoors with great people.

"I love seeing people overcome their daily challenges and progress at the jobs they’re doing," says Dykins, an avid golfer. "It’s important to be truthful and offer help when it’s needed. I feel like I can help identify when things are going wrong and help get things fixed. At Davey, we do it right."
