“During my first year as a foreman, a winter storm blew through the mountains of Santa Cruz, causing landslides and power outages. The only way to reach the transmission lines was by helicopter. Flying into the forest to remove trees from power lines had me sold on the job and I’ve never looked back.”
Larry Evans joined Davey in 1980.
Larry came to Davey with a background in construction, but wanted a career that would challenge him year round, so he turned to tree trimming. Starting off as a groundman on the Pacific Gas & Electric account in California, Larry had no idea Davey was a national company with so many challenging opportunities.
For the past 26 years, Larry has climbed up to the top of Davey’s utility services...all while working on the same account! From groundman to vice president of operations for utility, Larry's efforts have always been rewarded.
