“After being a principal in a small entrepreneurial business for 12 years, I was very happy to return to a solid, long-standing company such as Davey Tree… I feel that Davey is committed to all three 'bottom lines' – financial, social and environmental. A company's value is more than its stock price, which I do truly appreciate and value, since I am one of the many employee-owners of the company. The Davey Company really does try to 'Do it Right' on all accounts.”
Beth Buchanan truly looks forward to going to work each day. "You can’t ask for more than that," she says.
Buchanan is the special projects and contracts administration manager with Davey Resource Group. She enjoys working on inter-service line projects, including the Architect of the Capitol’s Tree Preservation Project for the new Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. This involved DRG, the Davey Institute, two Tree Care offices (Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia), Northern Virginia Commercial Grounds Management, and National Shade, which is now part of Davey. She also has overseen the New York City Asian Longhorned Beetle eradication project, which has involved employees from many residential and utility service line operations.
Buchanan encourages people interested in a career with Davey to get a "foot in the door, work hard, show initiative, find solutions, and be prepared when opportunities open for advancement."
