Jason Evans originally planned to start his own tree care company, but he changed his mind after winning a Davey sponsored tree climbing competition.

Evans, assistant district manager for Davey’s commercial/residential office in San Francisco, met a Davey recruiter after his victory during a Professional Landcare Network job fair in 2005. He learned about the myriad of opportunities the company offers, including on-the-job training and career advancement. Some time later, he spoke again with the recruiter, who told Evans about an accelerated sales training program that had just began.

Evans, a certified arborist, was convinced it was a smart move and joined Davey in 2007. His industry experience and bilingual skills have helped put him on the fast track to becoming a sales representative.

“I have really enjoyed working for Davey,” he says. “They have a strong commitment to their employees and want them to succeed. They offer great potential to grow within the company and encourage employees to do so. More than anything, I love working in the arboriculture field, and Davey has given me that opportunity.”
