Building a career with Davey Tree has come naturally for Andy Petit.

He grew up on a farm, worked at a tree farm in high school, and earned a degree in landscape horticulture. He joined Davey Tree in 2002 as a landscape foreman with Commercial Grounds Management and is now a branch manager in northeastern Ohio.

Petit believes a key to his success is a willingness to lead by example.

"My father taught me a long time ago to not ask someone to do something you are not willing to do yourself," he says.

This includes the Ryan Homes account, which he has supported in every capacity of his employment with Davey. He has helped with various tasks, from the design, installation and maintenance of landscapes to plowing snow.

"You will not find another company within the green industry that has more to offer than Davey Tree," Petit says. "The opportunities are endless for those individuals willing to put forth the effort. Davey Tree is a company that truly rewards hard work and dedication.

"I am very grateful to Davey Tree for the various opportunities they have facilitated and have every intention to continue to climb the corporate ladder."
