Damon McKissick understands the value of good training. He’s studied behavioral psychology and risen through the Davey ranks in large part due to his ability to observe and listen.

Damon first discovered Davey while observing crews on their way to work, and noticed that they seemed genuinely happy. He interviewed with Davey, hoping to land a job.

“They told me they were looking for someone that wanted a career, not a job. They would invest in me if I was willing to put the work in. I was a little skeptical and agreed to give it a year. Ten years later, I’ve never regretted that decision, and it’s become a great career.”

Damon points to Davey’s superior education and training as one of the company’s chief benefits. In fact, competitors have been known to refer to Davey training as ‘boot camp’ because of the rigorous instruction and high safety standards. He believes that Davey provides a great balance of good instruction and opportunity, provided you are willing to push yourself and continue to learn.
