More resistant to borers, this plant is slowly replacing the widely used white birch. The exfoliating bark exposes the cinnamon color of the younger stem. Grown as a multi-stemmed clump. River birch reaches a mature height of more than 40 feet, sometimes upwards of 90 feet.
