Broadly oval in shape, Green Mountain has been widely planted for its ability to withstand the hot, dry days of summer. The think, leathery green leaves of spring turn to an orange-red in fall. It has a mature height of about 50 feet.

Ideal planting location: part shade to full sun; moderate to wet conditions; sensitive to reflected heat and drought, turning leaf edges brown (scorch).

Leaf: 4 inches; opposite/subopposite green leaves; orange-red in autumn.
