It is a good time to be an employee-owned company, said John Logue, director of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center, during the 23rd Ohio Employee Ownership Conference.
Employee-owned companies don't outsource jobs. They have a higher rate of reinvestment than traditional companies and have a highly motivated work force, Logue said.
''The virtues of being employee-owned are pretty clear,'' he said.
During lunch, those virtues were reinforced when Karl Warnke, chief executive of The Davey Tree Expert Company, talked about his company's 30 years of employee ownership.
