Davey expert and urban forester RJ Laverne knows that trees
matter. "Trees in the landscape make life healthier, more
pleasant and safer, so their care is central to human
well-being," he says.
Twenty-five years ago the phrase urban forest would have been an
oxymoron. But growing interest in the effect of trees on
atmospheric conditions makes the concept a subject of interest.
Laverne has conducted cost-benefit studies of the urban forest and
can speak knowledgably about the value of a tree in the landscape.
His experience also includes tree appraisal and service as an
expert witness. The value of trees - financial, scientific and
aesthetic - is the focus of Laverne's work.
