Davey expert and plant pathologist Bal Rao knows that tree and
landscape is about more than just aesthetics. "Plants are
necessary for all life, so their care is the most critical thing we
can do as a civilization," he says.
As a child on his family's farm, Rao observed the challenges to
plant life from diseases and pests. His professional life has been
focused on identifying processes that alleviate the threats to
plant health. As a plant pathologist, Rao investigates plant
heatlth issues, and as a technical resource to Davey field
operations, he formulates his knowledge to be of practical use to
those facing issues of plant care.
