As alternative methods of pest control become increasingly more desirable, Persad's area of specialization is rapidly becoming central to horticultural practice. His research at the University of Florida-Gainesville into biological controls and at Davey into pest management makes him an experienced resource for questions about pests and their impact on the landscape.
