Ryan Gustafson is an urban forester and project manager with
Davey Resource Group. Mr. Gustafson conducts computerized tree
inventory projects for municipalities, parks, and golf courses. He
has experience with pen-based GIS data collection units. He has
assisted in Oak Lawn, Illinois; Hamilton Country Club, Ontario; New
Orleans Audubon Zoo and Park, Louisiana; and Clearwater and
Lakeland, Florida tree inventories. Mr. Gustafson has served as
project manager for other urban forestry projects in Jacksonville,
Sewall's Point, and Winter Haven, Florida; Sun Prairie, Wisconsin;
Lincolnshire, Illinois; and the St. Louis Zoo. Mr. Gustafson's past
internship experience includes working for Davey Tree's
Minneapolis, Minnesota residential tree care office for two summers
as a lawn care technician and tree care crew member. He interned
for two summers as the Assistant County Forester for Sherburne
County, Minnesota, working closely with the County's oak wilt
suppression program and the County's park system. He also had an
environmental internship in Phayao, Thailand, where he learned
about the local natural resources and gave recommendations on how
to improve current environmental programs. He is a Certified
Arborist and Municipal Specialist (MN-4145AM) with the
International Society of Arboriculture and a Certified Tree
Inspector for the state of Minnesota. He is a graduate of the Davey
Institute of Tree Sciences, a four-week comprehensive training
program developed by founder John Davey. Mr. Gustafson was elected
President of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point chapter of
the Student Society of Arboriculture in 2004, and is a graduate of
the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of
Science degree in urban forestry.
