Davey Resource Group

Kasey Krouse is a project manager with Davey Resource Group, where he supports the Urban Forestry and Ecological Services groups. As an urban forester, he manages and conducts tree inventories, composes urban tree management plans, and is the contract urban forester for Columbia City, Indiana. Through this work, he has assessed thousands of trees including their condition, health, risk factors, and maintenance needs. He is also proficient in the use of i-Tree software, including i-Tree Streets and i-Tree Storm applications. He used i-Tree Streets to complete the statewide urban forest sample inventory (SUSI) for the State of Indiana, and utilized i-Tree Storm to complete a pre-storm analysis for the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has served as a project manager on several public tree inventories, including Ann Arbor, Michigan; Lower Merion, Pennsylvania; Riverside, Illinois; Jackson, Tennessee; and Madison, Indiana. Mr. Krouse has also been involved in traditional forestry projects including Forest Inventory and Analysis sampling for the USDA Forest Service, and developing forest stewardship plans for the Township of West Windsor, New Jersey. Mr. Krouse also participates in a wide array of ecological services consulting projects where his duties include developing and implementing invasive species management plans, conducting wetlands delineation studies, preparing restoration and enhancement plans for both wetlands and prairies, and monitoring and assessing wetlands and streams using scientific protocols such as ORAM, QHEI, and HHEI.  He also assists with watershed management plans including macroinvertebrate sampling using the EPA Rapid Assessment Protocol and lake management plans by measuring and analyzing sediment depth.  Mr. Krouse has conducted multiple public presentations including those for Indiana Tree Stewards, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Habitat for Humanity, and the Walnut Council. Kasey holds pesticide applicators licenses for both aquatic and forest habitats with Indiana (# F228036), Ohio (117639), Illinois (CA 93936355), and Michigan (C006100281). Mr. Krouse is a Certified Arborist and Municipal Specialist (IN-3243AM) with the International Society of Arboriculture. He is also a 2010 graduate of Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, which is an advanced training for Davey employees in arboriculture and management practices. Mr. Krouse graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry, specializing in urban forestry and international studies.
