David Riddell is a biologist and project manager
for a variety of natural resource projects, including invasive
species control, endangered species consulting, stream and wetlands
mitigation monitoring, and wetlands delineations and permitting.
Mr. Riddell is a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator in the
states of Ohio (License No. 98953), Indiana (License No. 216931),
and Pennsylvania (License No. 904110), and oversees all of Davey
Resource Group's invasive plant control projects. He has managed
multiple large-scale projects for clients, including park districts
and federal government agencies, controlling invasive plant species
such as Typha angustifolia (narrow-leaved cattail), Phalaris
arundinacea (reed canary grass), Phragmites australis (common
reed), Rhamnus frangula (glossy buckthorn), Lonicera maackii (amur
honeysuckle), L. japonica (Japanese honeysuckle), and Elaeagnus
umbellate (autumn olive). In addition, Mr. Riddell is a Certified
Arborist (OH-5230A) through the International Society of
Arboriculture. He has served as a data technician on two U. S.
Forest Service projects involving the Urban Forest Effects Model
(UFORE) and as an inventory arborist on municipal, park, and
college campus tree inventories using pen-tablet GIS data
collection units. In 2005, Mr. Riddell was a technical support
specialist for the Asian Longhorned Beetle Eradication Program
located in New York City. His duties were to supervise field
operations, coordinate data with the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, perform quality control assessments, and collect and
organize field data. Mr. Riddell has completed training through
Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for Qualitative Habitat
Evaluation Index (QHEI) and Ohio Rapid Assessment Method (ORAM)
v.5. Mr. Riddell has also completed a 38-hour Army Corps of
Engineers Wetland Delineation and Management Training Program and a
Wetlands Plant Identification course. Mr. Riddell joined Davey
Resource Group in 2003 and graduated from Kent State University
with a Bachelor of Science degree in conservation.
