Davey expert and Horticulturist Grant Jones is an art buff, at least when it comes to nature's canvas. "I think of plants like colors on a palette - the more diversity, the greater the landscape," he says.
Jones' experience as a landscape designer and horticulturist for nursery and garden centers, and internships at Holden and Arnold arboretums have given him a strong background in evaluating the best use of plant materials for home gardens. His research in plant adaptation to the Great Lakes region furthers his depth of knowledge of "right plant/right place" and his participation in technical support for Davey field operations ensures that he is up on the current challenges facing gardeners.
Education: Bachelor's degree in agricultural science, University of Nebraska; master's degree in horticultural science, Michigan State University.
Certification: International Society of Arboriculture board certified master arborist.
