Davey expert and urban forester Al Zelaya understands the value of community connection.
"Participating as a volunteer with others in the Chicago region has taught me the importance of connecting people with their urban natural resources."
For Zalaya, the greatest reward is being able to connect people with innovative tools that allow them to determine the comprehensive value of their community trees and improve their management and advocacy efforts. He believes that Davey's research partnerships with the U.S. Forest Service and universities place it in a position to help others make a difference managing landscapes where people live.
